Our goal

THANK YOU so much, You are amazing!

Your kindness and generosity prove just how much you care, and just how much young adults with disability mean to you.

Because of you we will be able to purchase more sensory resources to engage young adults during day programs

Because of you young adults will enjoy more outings and activities and feel empowered and confident to engage with their friends again

Because of you more families will be able to access respite support so their young adults can have a weekend away in a safe environment

On behalf of everyone here at Northcott and on behalf all the families and children who will receive support, thank YOU! Together, we can achieve so much…

1 in 5 Australians have a physical or a mental disability

Since June, 4 out of 5 young adults with disability have reached out for support because they were experiencing distress, disengagement and anxiety.

Lockdown had a hard toll on everyone but the effect on young adults with disability is ten-fold. Their routine was disrupted, many didn’t understand what was happening and why they needed to wear masks.

Giving to Northcott means that young adults like Becki will be able to have more opportunities to learn new skills while having fun with their friends. Your donation will allow them to enjoy more outings where they can interact independently with other adults.

The lockdown had a hard toll on many!

All these uncertainties created stress, anxiety and disengagement. Many of us will bounce back but young adults with disability need a lot of support so they can get back on track, re-engage and rebuild their lives.

People with disability often struggle to cope with the world around them and need a break-out space to feel secure.

Your support today will allow young adults to experience meaningful opportunities to leave lockdown behind and laugh out loud again!

“I want Becki to do the simple things we all take for granted, like buying a train ticket and feeling confident and responsible without mum and dad around her. We look forward to Becki accessing respite services and spending a couple of nights away from home with other friends from Northcott. It will help her become more confident at problem-solving and feel a greater sense of independence in a safe environment"
